Reminiscing My Night with David Archuleta

It happened 4 years ago (November 17, 2009) when I met the ultimate man of my dreams.

Since it was my very first event ( I consider it as a concert) to watched, I was very excited to be there a early as I can. Six o'clock AM when I started lining up and I was number 33 on the line. My goal is to be on the meet and greet and I made it to the first 300. I'm a loner that time because I got no companion with me just like the others on the line and I'm too shy to approach others to be my friends. We waited for like 4 hours before SM Skydome opens for the CD selling. I had no idea how much to spend and I brought all my savings that time. Good thing CDs were a bit cheaper and I even bought two to have an amazing calendar as a souvenir.

I also met some people (well they were the first one to approach me) named Claire, Jessica, Raquel and Apple but I became more close with Jessica because she's really approachable.
She's not included in the VIPs so we also parted ways during the event. I skipped every meal all day because I got nobody to watched my line for me while buying food so I chose to stay on my line. More than 6 hours of no talking, no eating and no drinking. I don't know how I survived that but one thing is for sure, I'm gonna meet my ultimate idol. Before entering Skydome there was something really funny happened. One security guard informed us about the rule of not allowing food to enter the venue, then he started shouting this statement "NO FOOD, NO ENTRY." a lot of times. We can't help ourselves not to laugh but that security guard is a joker.

When we finally entered the venue I ran in the middle of the stage and we had a little problem with the tickets. The guards collected our tickets while entering and they were not supposed to do that because that was our ticket for the Meet and Greet. I never had my tickets back on my hand. Good thing the people in front of me didn't also get their tickets back so they asked a staff to give us a remedy. The staff gave us a stamp on our wrist as our ticket for the meet and greet. I'm not good with that because my arms are too sweaty but I had no choice, I'm just praying they wouldn't be erased on my wrist.

We still waited inside for like 2 hours before the show has officially started. I got no digital camera that time and my cellphone was my only savior to capture the much awaited moment. We can feel the energy rising as they decided to dim the lights and bring out the master of the ceremony MYX VJ Julz (sorry for the quality of the pictures).

She set the bar on high as she started talking about David.

To entertain us even more, they sent TV5's Sakto Boys: Rodjun Cruz, Edgar Allan Guzman, and Lucky. I had a slight crush on Rodjun and I got him to noticed me for awhile. :)

But I am not there for Rodjun, I was there for DAVID ARCHULETA!!!!! After they exited the stage, everybody had gone wild because security guards started to enter to control the safety of the fans. As VJ Julz was introducing the one and only I started cheering, screaming and jumping.

Then he came out with a big smile on his angelic face, really excited to see us all. He spoke some few words like "HELLO, MABUHAY!". Then he cued Alfredo (his guitarist) to start playing the song called Elevator. As always, he really gave an amazing performance. This was my first time seeing him live, and I'm seeing him just few ft. away from me. I really felt amazing that time. Singing-along with him throughout the song was superb. After singing Elevator, he went straight to the piano for his next song called Crush. His powerful vocals all throughout the song gave me chills and goosebumps. He stood up and mentioned the hotness inside the venue and even dance quite a little of "HOT, HOT. HOT, HOT!". I really love his sense of humor. Unfortunately, he only sang three songs. Last song of the night was Something 'Bout Love and he really saved the best for last. As he was singing the last line of the song, I really felt the pressure of the fans behind me pushing so hard that made me a little worried. Thank God I survived the pit.

He said his last "thank you" and made an exit on the stage. The staff was preparing for the album signing as we start to line up on the right side of the stage. I don't know if it was really a line but I just followed the flow. David came out again and waved just a little as the fans are battling to be the first for the autograph signing.

Despite of my arm being sweaty, the stamp on my arm was still visible and they let me in. My feet were shaking, my hands were cold and my dialogue was ready. No turning back, I am only few inches away from him. As I stepped up on the stage, my heart was beating really fast. He got this really annoying manager who was not so nice to the fans. But David's hazel eyes were so mesmerizing. I almost forgot my lines and my goal of shaking his hand. Since I only had few seconds in front of him, I just kept the conversation really simple:

                                  Me: Hi David!!!
David: Oh Hi!!! (with a smile)
Me: Can I shake your hands??
                                  David: Oh yeah, SURE!!!!
                                        ...SHAKE HANDS....
                                  Me: Thank you!!
David: You're welcome.. (with a smile)

I almost passed out while he was smiling at me. That was the best night of my life. As I was leaving the stage, I was gasping for air. I rushed out to the nearest store to buy some water and they even noticed my adrenaline rush after seeing Mr. David Archuleta. My phone was dying and I couldn't wait for my new found friends any longer. I left the building with the best memories that i will keep forever!!!!
